Obituary for Mary Jane Stoecklin

Mary Jane Stoecklin, age 94, of Eaton, OH, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center, Eaton, OH. She was born May 1, 1916 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Walter L. and Lillian Pearl (Thurman) Biggers. Mary Jane grew up in Cincinnati, OH and went through the entire school system, graduating from the University of Cincinnati Teacher’s College, where she also was a member of the Alpha Chi Sorority; she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Eaton, OH where she taught Sunday School most of her life, retiring in 1993; she was a member of the Preble County College Club; and was a member of the Preble County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur L. Stoecklin who passed away November 11, 1979; and brother-in-law Charles Johnson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Stephen W. and Phyllis Stoecklin of Canal Winchester, OH; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Bill Beckner of Indianapolis, IN; one granddaughter and three grandsons; 10 great grandchildren; sister Helen M. Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 16, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 123 West Decatur Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Wayne Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Eaton, OH, the Preble County College Club or charity of donor’s choice.
