Obituary for James Richard Coggin, Jr.

James Richard Coggin, Jr., age 79, of Eaton, OH and formerly of Verona, MS, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 20, 1931 to the late James Richard and Maudie (Temple) Coggin, Sr. Jim was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a 1960 graduate of Mississippi State University; was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Eaton, OH; and was a member of Sister Cities of Vandalia and Eaton. He retired as an electrical engineer from the Warner & Swassey Company, formerly known as the Sheffield Measurement Company. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Jean Grafton; and son Stephen Coggin. He is survived by his wife of 51years Margaret J. Coggin of Eaton, OH; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Jane Coggin of Eldorado, OH; daughter and son-in-law Temple and Stanley Rodrigues of Dayton, OH; grandchildren Alicia, Chris, and Matt Coggin and Natalie, Melanie and Kristen Rodrigues; nephew Rick and Jo Ann Grafton of Mt. Juliet, TN; and numerous cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Drive, Eaton, OH with Rev. Warren Reichert officiating. A luncheon and gathering will follow immediately in the fellowship hall. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
