Obituary for James M. Burtch

James M. Burtch, age 81, of New Paris, OH, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH. He was born July 18, 1928 in New Paris, OH to the late Fred E. and Gladys M. (Pierson) Burtch. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War; he was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, New Paris, OH; a member of the American Legion Post #215, Eaton, OH; member of the V.F.W. Post #8066, Eaton, OH; and a member of the National Rifle Association. Jim retired in 1991 as a Process Engineer from NATCO after 44 years of employment. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Fred E. Burtch, Jr. who died while serving his country during WWII in the battle at Palau Island; brother Robert C. Burtch; and sister Marilyn R. Holzapfel. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Martha Ann (Harshman) Burtch of New Paris, OH; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Terry Adsit of Eaton, OH; granddaughter Meghan (Brad Lindloff) Adsit of Ft. Wright, KY; granddaughter Morgan Adsit of Little Rock, AR; sister-in-law Mary Alice DeHart of Eaton, OH; brother-in-law Robert Holzapfel of New Paris, OH; nieces Tina (Tony) Thomas of Madison, CT, Tammy (Mike) Lipps of New Paris, OH and Lisa (Dan) Notary of Modesta, CA; nephews Mike (Sharon) Burtch of New Paris, OH, Jeff (Debbie) Burtch of New Paris, OH and James (Pat) Holzapfel of Atlanta, GA; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with the Rev. Dennis Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, OH. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the funeral home.
