Obituary for Bergie Halcomb

Bergie Halcomb, age 80, of Eaton, OH passed away suddenly on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH. He was born July 11, 1933 in Hazard, KY to the late Jonah and Ida (Fields) Halcomb. Bergie was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He retired from Union Local #24 Sheet Metal Workers. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and attended the Full Gospel Temple. Bergie enjoyed being a member of the senior citizens center in Eaton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lena Halcomb, son A.B. Carmack, Jr., and four brothers. He is survived by his son Timothy D. (Kathy) Halcomb of Eaton, OH; daughter Janie (RV) Copeland of Hamilton, IN; loving companion Delores Wehr of Eaton, OH; grandchildren Sean (Katelynn) Halcomb, Jason (Tina) Meredith, Jeremy (Mary) Meredith, Deserri (Marcus) Roose, Sandra (Kenton) Brown, Lora (Duke) Ganote, Susan (Michael) Marriott, and Jeremy Carmack; sister Elvie Murphy; brother Oscar Halcomb; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at the Full Gospel Temple, 4745 U.S Route 127 North, Eaton, OH, with Pastor Ken Harbaum officiating. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Full Gospel Temple.
