Name: Odell Lewis Date: December 10th, 1923 - December 17th, 2009 Obituary: Odell Lewis, age 86, of West Alexandria, OH passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, OH. He was born December 10, 1923 in Leslie County, KY to the late Sam and Linda (Kilburn) Lewis. Odell was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War; he was member of the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #82, F.&A.M.; he retired from General Motors of Dayton, OH after 46 years of employment; and he also was the owner of Lewis Excavating for over 50 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Carrie B. Lewis who passed away April 3, 1989; step-son Richard Edwards; and 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Alma (Richardson) Lewis of West Alexandria, OH; son and daughter-in-law Lonnie L. and Barbara Lewis of Vancouver, WA; step-daughter Rebecca Schaffer of Eaton, OH; step-daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Paul Romero of Denver, CO; grandchildren Amber Marie (husband Phil) Hart of South Lebanon, OH, Michelle Nicole Lewis of Batavia, OH, Zachary and Tyler Romero of Denver, CO and Drew Elizabeth Edwards of Eaton, OH; great grandchildren Alex and Cooper Hart of South Lebanon, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral and Masonic services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Fred Hill officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
