Dollene E. Smith

Dollene E. (Parks) Smith, age 89, of Eaton, OH passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. She was born on December 6, 1924 in Eaton to the late George Minton and Cara Belle Parks. Dollene was a wonderful loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who raised 10 children with her husband Jack and took care of all the milking on the family farm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack H. Smith, who died January 17, 2013; daughter Juanita Schmidt; grandsons, Stanley Schmidt and Robert A. Smith; great-grandson Aaron M. Gadd; brothers Ray M. Parks and Roy E. Parks; half-brother Russell Parks; and half-sisters Videssa Troutwine, Jeanette Brown, Treva Parks and Mary Josephine Rupe. Survivors include her sons Herbert J. (Bessie) Smith of Kettering, Robert J. (Wanda) Smith of New Paris, Carl E. (Judy) Smith of Fort Pierce, FL, Art (Phyllis) Smith, Glen C. (Joy) Smith, and Keith L. (Vicki) Smith all of Eaton; daughters, Betty J. (Don Buell) Sisco of Camden, Ruby B. (Kenneth) Lipscomb and Gail Taylor of Eaton; and 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main St., Eaton, OH. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, August 24, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Monday both at the funeral home.
